Re-Hire Information

Please read this first - The process of recalling takes 3-6 weeks from the time the requisitions (recs) are requested and the time people return to their first day on the job. IMPORTANT - Make sure your address and contact information is current with the Boeing Company as well as the Union. If you are receiving mail from both and you have not changed your address or phone number since being surplussed, you don't have to do anything.

If you need to update your information with the Boeing Company and the Union, please do so in writing to:

The Boeing Company
PO Box 3707 M/S 11-XP
Seattle, Wa. 98124-2207

IAM District 751
9125 15th Place So.
Seattle, Wa. 98108-5190

If you are laid off and you have cancelled your Cat A for recall or have not filed CAT "A" recall and are ready to be considered for recall, now would be the time to re-file for your Cat A re-call rights. You can activate your Category A with Boeing only to the same address as above not through the union. Click here for a form to assist you.

The UNION does NOT handle the process of making changes to your CAT A status. This is done ONLY at The Boeing Company.

If you do not wish to be called back at this time due to schooling or other endeavors, you can request to suspend your recall rights until you are ready to return to the recall list. The same contractual time limits apply while suspended, the calendar doesn't stop.
Example:If you have 3 years of recall rights back to a job and you were 2 years into those recall rights and subsequently suspended them, you would only have one year in which to be on suspended recall status. After that one year, you would no longer have rights to that job. The 3 years would have elapsed.

Once an offer of recall is made by the Boeing Company and you refuse to accept that recall, you lose all seniority and any other recall rights unless that refusal is due to his valid assertion of his inabilty to perform that particular work assignment per 22.18(c)(3).

To suspend your recall rights, send a written request to the Boeing Company and cc the Union at the above addresses to ensure your rights are maintained.
