What We're Trying to Get

Brief summary of the IAM's 272-page contract proposal to Boeing

Job Security
* To stop offloading and subcontracting of existing hourly work. Also to bring work that
has been subcontracted back in-house to have hourly IAM members perform the work.
* Language to prohibit any in-plant subcontractors.

Retirement Plan
* Significantly improve Boeing pension plan.
* Add IAM Pension Plan as a supplemental plan, in addition to the Boeing plan.
* Improved early retirement package including improvements to retiree medical.
* COLA for retirees.

Medical Plan
* No reductions in medical coverage.
* Reduce co-pays and enhance benefits while continuing to keep plan costs down.
* Expand prescription drug program.

Life Insurance
* Significant increase to life insurance.

Vision
* Increase vision care benefits.
* Add one set of occupationally required prescription safety glasses during a 1-year period.

Dental Care
Enhance and expand coverage.
After layoff, dental coverage similar to medical coverage offered.

Orthodontic Care
* Significantly increase orthodontia lifetime maximum.

Voluntary Investment Plan
* Meaningful increase to amount members can contribute.
* Increase Company contribution.

Bereavement Leave
* Expand bereavement leave.

Vacation/Sick Leave
* Improve vacation/sick leave accumulation.

Holidays
* Add additional holidays.

Family & Medical Leave
* Expand language on family and medical leave act.

Jury Duty/Witness Duty
* Expand jury and witness duty.

General Wage Increase/Lump Sum Bonus
* A General Wage Increase (GWI) and bonus.

COLA
* Maintain current cost of living language.

Seniority Progression Increase
* Reduction of time to achieve maximum pay rate

Shift Differential
* Propose increase in second and third shift differential.

Overtime
* Eliminate mandatory overtime -- all overtime is on a strictly voluntary basis.

Jobs Committee
* Upgrades for numerous jobs, as well as changes to job descriptions to better fit the existing workload.

Workforce Administration
* Expand/enhance Category A (recall rights).
* Revise lateral transfers using volunteers and seniority.
* Improve work rules.
* Downgrade rights without time limitation for employees with 10 or more years seniority.
* Downgrade rights extended if job is held for 30 calendar days.

Health & Safety
* Expand HSI and Site Committees to further promote safety in the workplace.

QTTP
* Increase the Company contribution to QTTP.
