Credit That Was Due

751-member Geneva Lenik saw her Union membership pay off, as the Union was able to get her two years of seniority reinstated after the Company had miscoded an industrial injury leave. Without the corrected seniority, Geneva was facing layoff.

Everett Tube Shop Steward Margie Pernell gathered documentation and with help from Business Rep Susan Palmer got the two years of seniority restored. Margie also discovered Geneva was entitled to five year's pay rate protection because of her medical downgrade and delivered a check for approximately $4,900.

Geneva noted, "I am thankful the Union was there to represent me and ensure the mistake was corrected, I was properly paid and my seniority restored. Without the Union, I would be laid-off."
