February 2008: Solidarity Items Delivered

Throughout the month of February, union stewards will be delivering various contract solidarity items to all members. These consist of "Burn Barrel" banks to encourage saving some money in the event there is a work stoppage due to the company not addressing your issues. Also, "Participation Boards" will be delivered by union stewards to encourage everyone to "Do Their Part" in preparing for negotiations.

IAM Negotiators will be meeting for specific and specialized strategy sessions tailored specifically to these negotiations with Boeing. They will begin drafting proposals based on the membership surveys and feedback received to date addressing what the members have identified as needing improvements in this round of bargaining.

March 2008

Stewards will be passing out a survey on Wages and Pension. All surveys are due back by March 14th. It is vital that all members participate in the survey so the negotiators can formulate the union's proposal accordingly.

April 2008

The events and rallies committee have planned road show style contract kick off events. They have set up a plan to hold a barbeque at five locations throughout the Puget Sound to give you a chance to meet and talk directly to your negotiators in person before the union members proposal is presented to the company.
