Strike Update -- September 29, 2008

We continue to talk with the mediator regularly and tell the mediator Boeing needs to improve their last, best and final offer. We will continue to push to get Boeing back to the table. In the meantime, standing your picket duty is the only way to show our collective strength to the Company.

The support for our strike is especially strong in the labor community. We are blessed to have labor leaders reaching out to our union asking how they can assist. They are joining us on the picket line and giving us useful information to help our strike succeed.

Brothers Rick Bender and Al Link, the President and Secretary-Treasurer of the Washington State Labor Council have joined our picket lines several times and so have a number of members of their staff. The Service Employee's International Union 1199 President Diane Sosne invited our union to speak to their membership in support of our strike. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 77 President Rick Johnson also asked if our union would speak to a gathering of delegates from Washington, Idaho and Western Montana, detailing the issues related to our strike. They all have expressed solidarity with us and understand an injury to one is an injury to all.

The Union has set up Job Search Committees at all Union halls. Keep in mind these are volunteers who are strikers that have stepped up to help their Union brothers and sisters.
