Medco Fix for Those Impacted on Traditional Medical Plan at Boeing
Boeing reported earlier this year that some employees on the Traditional Medical Plan were having problems with Medco, the company that administers their prescription drug program. This caused them to only be able to receive a 34 day supply of medication from a retail pharmacy instead of the normal 100 day supply agreed to in our contract.
The problem impacted over 200 participants from December 29, 2009 until the computer coding error was fixed on January 9, 2010.
Boeing has been put into place a general fix that will correct this issue in terms of our contract. A letter is going out to those affected employees with information about the problem that occurred and explaining their contractual benefits about the proper supply of medication our contract allows from a retail pharmacy. Included will be a refund check of any co-pays made during this time frame to be used to get medication in the future for the correct amount.
Anyone with additional questions on prescription drug coverage can contact the Health & Benefits office for further information at 206-764-0350 or 1-800-763-1301, ext. 3350.
