Boeing Security and Fire Protection recommends

Boeing Security and Fire Protection recommends you take steps and actions to protect yourself and your family.
* Keep cars and other vehicles fueled and in good repair, with an emergency car kit each.
1 Assemble an emergency preparedness kit.
2 Plan <http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/brochures/winterstorm.pdf> for your home, family and pets before a storm strikes.
3 Get a NOAA Weather Radio to monitor the following severe weather conditions:

* Winter Storm Watch: Be alert; a storm is likely.
1 Winter Storm Warning: Take action; the storm is in or entering the area.
2 Blizzard Warning: Snow and strong winds combined will produce blinding snow, near-zero visibility, deep drifts and life-threatening wind chill -- seek refuge immediately!
3 Winter Weather Advisory: Winter weather conditions are expected to cause significant inconveniences and may be hazardous, especially to motorists.
4 Frost/Freeze Warning: Below-freezing temperatures are expected and may cause damage to plants, crops or fruit trees.

* Dress properly. Dressing in layers is important when the temperatures drop. Experts recommend wearing several layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing rather than one layer of heavy clothing.

1 Outer garments should be woven tightly and water-repellent.
2 Mittens are warmer than gloves.
3 Wear a hat.
4 Cover your mouth with a scarf to protect your lungs from extremely cold air.
5 Wear sturdy, waterproof boots in snow or flooding conditions.

* Know what to do if caught in a storm.
