Women's Committee Report - June 2003
The Women's Committee would like to give a big "shout out" and huge "thank you" to all the volunteers, pledge givers, runners, joggers and walkers for participating in and helping to support the 2nd Annual Guide Dogs of America "Flight for Sight" Fun Run, held Saturday, May 31st. We would also like to recognize the members who went above and beyond and were winners of our pledge contest. The third place trophy and a $50 gift certificate from Fred Meyer went to Local E Council Delegate Dan Meddaugh who ran the 5K and raised $270. Thank you Dan! The second place trophy and $75 gift certificate from Fred Meyer went to District 751 Political Director Linda Lanham, who raised $630. Thank you Linda! And, the first place trophy and $100 gift certificate went to a most deserving Local A Steward named Lois Holton, who raised an amazing $2,185. Thank you VERY VERY much Lois!!! We would also like to recognize those who raised $100 or more but less than the winners:

Special recognition also goes to Women's Committee member Pam
Black who not only helped us prepare for the event, helped register
day of race participants, but also raised $339 in pledges and
completed the 1-mile walk as well. Now that's what I call multi-tasking!
So, because of all the fantastic support we received and thanks
also to District President Mark Blondin who helped us MC the day
of the event, we are very proud to announce that the 2nd annual
Fun Run for Guide Dogs of America raised over $9,000!!!!.
This event not only raised a lot of money but was also a lot
of fun to do! See you at the 3rd Annual Flight for Sight Fun
Run.
