March is Women's History Month

It is a time for women to reflect on how far we've come. "Women started out this century laced into corsets, without the vote. Now we're orbiting the earth, truly becoming partners with men in positions of leadership, looking into a future of better opportunity and recognition for ourselves, daughters and our granddaughters."

As Amelia Earhart wrote, "Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be a challenge to others."

With this sentiment in mind, the IAM Women's Department challenges each of our IAM sisters to continue the progress made by the women who came before us. Also, please see the IAM Women's Department website for a few brief bios of women who have worked in the past century for the advancement of women and working families. May their stories motivate you to become more active in your union and your communities.

Next, the women's committee is proud to announce that yes; it's that time of year again to start training for the 4th Annual "Flight for Sight" fun run, walk and jog. This year it will be held on Saturday, May 21st at the Everett Boeing Activity Center. As you may know, this is not only a fun event for the whole family, but a fundraiser for our charity, Guide Dogs of America.
Please pick up the brochures on the back table and take them out to your shops. There is a pledge form inside. So this is fair warningthere is plenty of time to start getting in shape now to run, walk or jog. See you on Saturday, May 21st.

Thanks!
