Women's Committee Report September 2003
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. In Washington alone, more than 3,800 women will be diagnosed with the disease while another 700 will die in 2003. The American Cancer Society made significant progress against this disease, but need help to do more. That is why they are sponsoring the second annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event on Sunday, October 5th, in which the Women's Committee is participating. The non-competitive walk is 4 miles and will be held in Bellevue. Registration begins at 8 am; the walk will start at 9 am
We are taking donations on the back table if you'd like to help with this important cause. You can also help by volunteering to walk with us we have a sign up sheet on the back table too. And, this will be counted as 2 hours Steward volunteer credit under the 8-hour policy as directed by District President Mark Blondin.
We also have information on the event at the back table as well.
We hope you can come join us on Sunday, October 5th, to raise money to help in the fight against breast cancer.
Thanks!
