Women's Committee Report - September 2006

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk to help fight breast cancer and provide hope to people facing the disease. Your participation will support the American Cancer Society's lifesaving research, prevention, early detection, and support programs for thousands of patients and their families.

Our Committee has formed TEAM 751 for this event and invites you to join us at Bellevue Downtown Park on Sunday, October 15th. We are meeting in front of the fountain across from JC Penny's at 8:45 AM and the 5 mile walk starts at 9:00. Registration and contribution forms are available at our table and at all our Union halls now. Or you can join our team and pledge on line at our TEAM 751 website. Simply log onto www.cancer.org/stridesonline and click on WA State to reach the Seattle event. You can join our team from there and the pledge is optional.

We have ordered 100 t-shirts with our TEAM 751 logo silk-screened on the back that we are selling for $15.00 each. We are taking pre-orders at our table and it is first come for size availability. Otherwise, the regular shirts and other event items are for sale at the walk that day. So, sign up now to walk with us and together we can change lives.

The last thing we want to share with you this month is that our Women's Committee ordered children's finger print kits for members to use to keep their kids safe now that school has started. We got them from our International Women's Department and they are available at our table. Thank you.
