March 29, 2020 - In an effort to help communicate an important message regarding a potential exposure to COVID-19 to those impacted, we are posting this message on our website:
Out of an abundance of caution, Boeing is reporting a positive COVID-19 case involving the driver of the Renton site Blue shuttle route during the following time period:
Second and third shift on Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, March 20 from the hours of 8:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.
Health officials say there was a low risk of exposure because the following social distancing measures were in place on our shuttle buses:
· The first two rows of the buses were taped off to maintain a 6-foot separation between drivers and employees.
· Only the rear doors of the buses were in use during this time period to avoid contact between drivers and employees.
Despite the low risk, and after discussion with King County Public Health, Boeing Health Services is recommending that employees who rode the Blue shuttle route during that time should self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and practice social distancing. If you begin to experience symptoms, immediately notify your health care provider of that potential exposure.
Employees who had close contact with the bus driver (closer than six feet for at least 10 minutes) should call the Boeing Emergency Coronavirus Reporting Hotline at 800.899.6431 to be placed on company-issued quarantine through April 3.
Employees are reminded to contact the Boeing Emergency Coronavirus Reporting Hotline at 800.899.6431 if they have been tested for COVID-19 and the results are pending or confirmed positive.
